All mankind is born with the seed of sin (Carnal Nature) in their hearts due to the sin of Adam in the Garden of Eden. If we do not seek and find Jesus when we reach the age of accountability, this seed of sin will grow. It will show up in our life and we will be living the life of a sinner. However, we do not have to remain in this state of life. Jesus gave His life, was crucified at Calvary, shedding His own blood so we can seek and find Him and have His spirit living in our hearts. JESUS IS THE WAY, the only way whereby mankind can be born again.

There are TWO WORKS in the plan of salvation, first we must repent and be 1. FORGIVEN of the sins that we have committed, then we must go on and get… 2. SANCTIFIED, this is being cleansed of the carnal nature or root of sin by the blood of Jesus and His Spirit comes within our heart to make His abode and live, as described in the following pages. After we are FORGIVEN and SANCTIFIED (born again) then our pure heart will manifest the fruits of the spirit. Short of being born again by the blood of Jesus we cannot enter Heaven and live with God eternally.

“Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate.” Hebrews 13:12

 SEED OF SIN

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12

Adam sinned in the garden of Eden and because of that, sin fell on the whole human race. Everyone born in the world is born with the seed of sin in his or her heart, as shown here in this heart.

GROWTH OF SIN

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

This heart represents the growth of sin. When we are born, we have the seed of sin in our hearts as shown on the previous page. If we do not accept Jesus when we are old enough to know right from wrong, this seed of sin will continue to grow and will appear in our life.

LIFE OF A SINNER

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

This heart represents the life of a sinner. By not seeking and serving God when we are at the age to know right from wrong, the seed of sin will continue to grow. This sin will cause us to have sinful things in our heart like: malice, envy, hatred, love of money, anger, pride and lust. This sin nature we inherited from Adam when he sinned in the Garden of Eden keeps growing. It causes a person to commit sins such as stealing, lying, fighting, murder, gossip, jealousy, getting drunk and being inventors of evil things and such like.

REPENT AND BE CONVERTED

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. “ John 1:9

This heart shows us that even though a sinner’s heart seems ugly and bad, we don’t have to stay in that state. God’s word tells us to repent and be converted. Repent means to be sorry for the sins you have committed and to want to quit doing them. If you repent and confess your sins, Jesus will forgive you. Now all the sins are forgiven, but as you can see, the root of sin is still in the heart. If we do not get the root of sin or seed of sin cleansed out of our heart, we will soon be back living the life of a sinner.

SANCTIFICATION

“Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate.” Hebrews 13:12

This heart represents Sanctification, the cleansing of sin from the heart. Sin fell on the human race when Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. As you can see, the Holy Ghost fire from Heaven has cleansed all the roots of sin from the heart, then we are born again Christians for Jesus. Sanctification occurs when you fully commit your life to God and ask Him to come live in your heart through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

This heart shows us the fruits of the Spirit resulting from a pure heart. The Sanctified heart is a pure heart. The word of God tells us that the pure in heart shall see God. Sanctification keeps our heart and life pure which will allow us to go to Heaven and be with Jesus when we die
